Happy Festivus!!!

the joys of procrastination. i have yet to even begin shopping for christmas. december is an absolute crazy month at work with 4th quarter ending, and year end crap. who has time for forced gift shopping? i can barely even drag myself to the gym after the long hours!!!  i tried to survive target yesterday, and found myself in the food aisle since no one was there, and the shelves were clean and organized. all the baking goods have been purchased. gifts, zero.

if only festivus were a real holiday. happy festivus!!!

let's see if i make it to the mall and leave with gifts. me vs procrastination...who will win?!

this weekend..

in case you didn't catch anything artsy last weekend, this weekend would be your best bet to go check out the wynwood and design district art galleries. less crowds, less traffic, and lots of parking!!! also check out the wynwood wall murals, which are my favorite!

i'll be spending my lovely saturday afternoon at the south miami farmers market then checking out the new sculptures at fairchild tropical garden, and having a picnic. perfect time of year. sunny and beautiful, beautiful weather! i'm not sure what my sunday will entail, but if it's anything outrageously cool, i will let you know! :-) (i refuse to waste my free time christmas shopping..)

happy weekend!

another farmer's market! yay..south miami

locally grown fruits and veggies are my fave. i think its important to support our local farmers, and its better for our health. what's even better, is when these markets are close to my house :-)

Last Saturday was the first South Miami Farmers' Market. This is a new market in town with a lot of energy, support and organization.  It is one of the only markets that actually sells ONLY locally produced or prepared foods!  Even better, it is dedicated to bringing only certified organic or naturally and sustainably grown farm products to the stand.  Little River fits right in!  We have a table under a large circus style tent along with all the other farms.  Come by and look for our fresh produce, plants, seeds and the famous handmade Calendula lip salve!
I harvest fresh produce for the market on Friday evening, while CSA members are coming by for their shares.  Until then I wont know exactly what I'm bringing, but here's the projected list:

-Collard greens
-Kale
-Watermelon Radishes
-Lemongrass
-Basil tips
-Nasturtium leaves
