Sunday 6/3: JAWS Moonlit Movie at Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove


The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove continues its series of classic films shown outdoors under a major moon. This weekend, see Jaws. The film will be shown on Sunday, June 3, at 7 p.m. on the fountain terrace, where you can enjoy plush couches and al fresco dining FOR FREE.

While the H&M Lincoln Road retail location is still being built, H&M has announced that it will be opening a Miami Beach pop-up shop this Friday June 1st to hold you down all summer long.

The approximately 3,380 square foot space will feature H&M summer fashion for ladies and men. This location will also carry H&M’s fantastic accessories, as well as men’s and women’s swimwear starting at just $4.95. Allowing Miami Beach consumers to ­­shop in style, H&M’s Miami pop-up shop will offer the latest summer trends in chic colors such as vibrant neons, aquatic blue tones, and soft pastels. Key items for women will include dresses from $12.95, summer tanks starting at $4.95, and shorts for $12.95. Men will be able to purchase short sleeve shirts and swim apparel starting at $12.95, and shorts for $19.95.

3rd Annual Bike Prom! Sunday 5/27

Emerge Miami is hosting their 3rd annual Bike Prom during Memorial Weekend. Bike Prom is a slow paced social ride, expect the hear tunes from the bicycle sound system and improv dance parties along the way. The group will ride through Downtown, Brickell, Omni and Midtown. The ride ends at The Vagabond where participants will have the option to attend The Spring Fling 90s Homecoming, remember Monday is Memorial Day.

Prom attire highly suggested but not required, dress to impress. Bring a date or go stag, if you do decide to come alone bring bike pegs and pick up some random stranger off the street.

We will be riding through Little Havana, Allapattah, Wynwood, Midtown, Design District, Buena Vista, Little Haiti, Upper East Side, Edgewater, Omni, and Downtown. The route is available here, total distance is 15.4 miles. It's strongly suggested that you print a copy of the map for yourself in case you are tardy or get lost. The ride stops/ends at The Filling Station, which offers specials on food & drinks for cyclists. It's conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Miami and just two blocks from Government Center.

Don't forget to bring bicycle lights. It's the law!

Please read the tips & guidelines to help you understand what is expected of all participants on this community ride. Cyclists ride at their own risk and assume responsibility for their own safety! This is a very big group, look out for one another.

We will be leaving at 7:15pm sharp. If you arrive late you will be left behind, the ride starts & ends in Downtown Miami. Rain or shine!



Cue Notes:



The Filling Station will have specials for cyclists including $3 Grolsch, PBR tallboys and a $5 food menu (burgers, wings & veggie wraps), they also have indoor & outdoor seating plus an upstairs with televisions, foosball & air hockey. Bring a bicycle lock if you intend on going inside! See you there!



* Riders are advised to immediately clear the street and not obstruct traffic outside the establishment once we arrive, please move yourselves and bicycles to the surrounding sidewalks and/or parking lot across the street.

A portion of the proceeds from the crawl will contribute to UM's residents' efforts to continue groundbreaking research projects to solve the puzzle of neurological diseases such as Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinsons disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Held just two days before Mother's Day, National Public Gardens Day is a national day of celebration that invites communities to explore the beauty of their local green spaces, while raising awareness of the important role public gardens play in promoting conservation, education and environmental preservation.  

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden will mark this special day with FREE admission for everyone to enjoy its 83 acres of lush landscaping and admire the monumental sculptures of American artists Will Ryman and Dale Chihuly or simply sit on a bench and read a favorite book. As a special Mother's Day treat, visitors will also enjoy a free native plant giveaway of many that were propagated at Fairchild's nurserywhile supplies last. 

Are you a great photographer? Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is proud to launch a special opportunity with its "The Art of the Flower" photography competition in honor of National Public Gardens Day on Friday, May 11.
