Critical Mass Miami

The ride will be going through Riverside, West Flagler, Coral Gables, Coral Way, Shenandoah, Little Havana, Overtown, OMNI, Park West, and Downtown. Total distance is approximately 13 miles. It's strongly suggested that you print a copy of the map or save it on your phone in case you are tardy or get lost.

All eyes appear to be on Miami Critical Mass and it’s time for participants to prove the opposition wrong. Everyone riding is solely responsible for their actions and should lead by example. If you see someone riding or behaving irresponsibly, then let them know it’s not acceptable. If you’re partaking in the ride, then it’s your duty to positively influence others. Ride safely and be courteous to everyone in the community, if you can’t do this then quite simply you are not welcomed. There’s no room for hostile, drunk, moronic individuals. There are a lot of great people on these rides, enjoying their city by bicycle for 1-2 hours on the last Friday of every month, and it’s rather unfortunate that a few bad apples can ruin this special occurrence for everyone else. To frustrated motorists, borrow a bicycle and try joining the ride sometime with some friends. You never know, you just may experience one of the most fun, free, and healthy social gatherings South Florida has to offer.

Bicycle Rules & Safety Tips

  • Stay in the right lane, and do not ride across middle line on the road into opposite travel lane
  • Yield to emergency vehicles.
  • No Headphones! While riding a bicycle it is illegal to wear a headset, headphone or other listening device, other than a hearing aid or instrument for the improvement of defective human hearing.
  • Safety Lights: Front & rear lights are required by law in the State of Florida. 
  • Kids under 16 years of age must wear helmets.
  • Do not ride on the sidewalk.
  • Passing: A passing cyclist is responsible for the safety of the cyclist that is being passed. When passing ring a bell and/or say "on your left".
  • Yield to pedestrians and buses.
  • No drinking of alcohol or illegal activity during ride.
  • Do not filter forward past stopped cars at a red light.
  • Skateboarders, inline skaters and recumbent bikes are welcomed, exercise caution.
  • Do not litter or vandalize any property.
  • Stopping: If you must stop to check your bike, phone, gear etc please move over to the sidewalk when it's clear. Do not stop abruptly in the middle of the street with the mass behind you. You will more than likely cause a cyclist to hit you and/or swerve and hit someone else.
  • Always perform an "ABC Quick" Bike Check to ensure that your bike is in safe working order.

*ULTRA Music Festival is taking place this weekend so expect large crowds and increased (motor vehicle / pedestrian) traffic in the Downtown area. Expect sparse parking and an influx of people using the Metrorail and Metromover.

The ride will be ending at NW 1st Ave between 3rd & 2nd St (east side of Government Center). Adjacent to the parking lot where most participants typically park their vehicles.

Bring your bicycle sound systems... You are the street/parking lot party!

Don't forget to bring bicycle lights. It's the law! We will be leaving at 7:15pm sharp. If you arrive late you will be left behind, the ride starts & ends in Downtown Miami. Rain or shine!

THIS IS NOT A RACE! SLOWER RIDERS TO THE FRONT!

The Magic City Bicycle Collective will have a tent set up in the parking lot with a repair stand and t-shirts. They will demonstrate simple bike care and do minor bicycle repairs and maintenance. Make a donation to this great non-profit group if they assist you!

Bring a bike lock.. don't lose your bike by being careless. Do not leave your bike unattended if not locked securely. Also, don't leave your bike(s) inside your vehicles and/or car bike racks without locking them.

Coconut Grove BID and History Miami
Bike tour with Frank Schena. Participants must bring their own bikes.



In celebration of Coconut Grove’s 140th anniversary, the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District in collaboration with HistoryMiami will offer FREE historic walking and bike tours to the public.

Join local historians Dr. Paul George and Frank Schena as they uncover the fascinating history of Miami’s oldest community, established in 1873.

Visit memorable sites including the Peacock Inn, Millionaire’s Row, the old Pan American Airways seaplane terminal, the first public school in Dade County, and the Barnacle, the preserved home of Commodore Ralph Munroe. The Barnacle, which was built in 1891, is the oldest home in Miami still in its original location.
“From its beginnings in 1873, Coconut Grove has represented one of Greater Miami’s most attractive, exciting, and compelling communities.
Add equal dollops of beauty, creativity, eccentricity, and profound institutional development and you have the area that has appealed to residents and visitors alike for the past 140 years,” said historian Dr. Paul George.

Among Coconut Grove’s residents and visitors were many influential Americans including Robert Frost, Tennessee Williams, Alexander Graham Bell, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, William Deering, William Matheson, David Fairchild, and others.

Admission: FREE, Advanced Reservations Required. Space is limited.

DiverCycles Bike Ride starting at Government Center at 10am

Bike Ride celebrating diversity in Miami and supporting immigration reform with a path to citizenship.

Join us in a route passing by Little Havana to Little Haiti.
We will stop at an ACLU of Florida Mural “I am here” created by the Dominican artist Ruben Ubiera, inspired by the real stories of Floridians dealing with our harsh immigration policies.
Ubiera will be at the location to share details about the interactivity of the mural, and José Machado, one of the people represented in the art piece, will be sharing his immigration story with the riders.

At Little Haiti, we will do a tour to the Little Haiti Cultural Center,
and will enjoy some traditional Haitian Cusine (bring cash).

Meet at the Miami Beach Bicycle Center and ride with the community.

The Miami Beach Community Ride is brought to you
by Miami Beach Bicycle Center and the City of Miami Beach.
This ride is perfect to meet and greet new people, get exercise, and have a great time.
Thanks to the Miami Beach Police, the traffic is stopped and the riders can enjoy a continuous safe ride.
At the half way point the riders stop to drink water and take a quick breath.
The best thing about the ride is that its FREE!
The ride is every second Saturday of the month starting from the store at 9am.

The ride will end at Grand Central Park for the "Magic City Bike Party, the park is located just five blocks north of Government Center.

Don't forget to bring bicycle lights. It's the law! We will be leaving at 7:15pm sharp. If you arrive late you will be left behind, the ride starts & ends in Downtown Miami. Rain or shine!


The Miami Bike Scene and Omni Parkwest Redevelopment Association present.. "Magic City Bike Party"at Grand Central Park in Downtown Miami on August 30th from 8-11pm.

Join hundreds of local cyclists for a special Miami Critical Mass after party at the park. We'll have food trucks, beer, music, and of course bicycles. Admission is free.

Skate ParkThe bike party coincides with the monthly Miami Critical Mass ride which will be starting as regularly scheduled at Government Center, the only difference to previous rides is that it'll be ending at Grand Central Park for the celebration, the group of cyclists should be expected to arrive at the park around 8:20pm.

The Magic City Bicycle Collective will have two tents set up with a repair stand, music, and t-shirts. They will demonstrate simple bike care and do minor bike repairs and maintenance. Buy them a beer, purchase a t-shirt or make a donation!

Bring your bike lock! The park is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Don't lose your bike by being careless. Do not leave your bike unattended if you do not have a good lock.

Once again.. Miami Critical Mass will meet up at Government Center at 6:30pm as usual, and depart at 7:15pm! The group will ride about 12.5 miles and finish at Grand Central Park around 8:20pm for the bicycle party!

Don't forget to bring bicycle lights. It's the law! We will be leaving at 7:15pm sharp. If you arrive late you will be left behind, the ride starts & ends in Downtown Miami. Rain or shine!

* Riders are advised to immediately clear the street and not obstruct traffic outside the downtown establishments once the ride is over, please move yourselves and bicycles to the surrounding sidewalks and/or parking lot across the street. Don't stand in the middle of the road.

  • Kickoff rally at Ponce Stage set up at South end of Ponce Circle Park at 10:30 am. With announcement from Title Sponsor and short speech from Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Carlos Gimenez and Gables Commissioner, Ralph Cabrera and surprise guests.
  • Children’s play Areas at corner of Miracle Mile and LeJeune Blvd and at Ponce Circle Park, featuring bouncehouses, climbing wall, face painting, tattoos, clown, etc…
  • Nonprofit and educational booths providing cycling information, materials, helmets, lights at Community Zone.
  • Hourly bike tours (historic, landmark, open house) of the Gables conducted by knowledgeable staff. Start and end at Ponce Circle Park.
  • Free Bike Valet stations set up at two convenient spots throughout event route.
  • Food Spots featuring local participating restaurants with daily specials and outdoor seating.
  • Bike Polo exhibition games by Miami Bike Polo
  • Costume contest throughout the day, culminating in award for Best Costume at Ponce Stage.

The October Critical Mass is the Halloween costume ride!
The Filling Station will be hosting a costume contest at the end of the ride.

The ride is being dedicated to Rodolfo Rojo.

We will be riding through East Little Havana, Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Coral Way, Little Havana, The Roads, Brickell, and Downtown. Safety tips for cyclist wearing costumes:

If your costume requires a mask or other face covering, you should be able to see clearly and breathe easily at all times. Make sure your costume will not get caught in the wheels, gears, or pedals.

Don't forget to bring bicycle lights. It's the law!

Once again we'll be visiting a few new establishments and some old favorites so be sure to check out the itinerary & map provided below. Join as as we celebrate good beer, food and cycling! Come experience for yourself why the New Times dubbed us Best Urban Bike Ride 2011 and Best Activity While Intoxicated 2010.

We'll be starting off at 4pm at The Abbey on South Beach where all Abbey house brews are just $4.50 for cyclists! We'll then make a stop at Wood Tavern / Lester's, Bloom, Will Call, and finally The Filling Station. The pub crawl conveniently ends near the Government Center Metrorail Station in Downtown Miami for those who wish to take the train back home vs riding. 

Suggested route available here. Total distance is approximately 8 miles.

Remember to bring a bicycle lock. A light is also recommended since it'll be dusk by the time we leave the last bar. The pub crawl should be over by 9:30pm. Cyclists ride at their own risk and assume responsibility for their own safety!

Please remember to DRINK RESPONSIBLY, obey all traffic laws and be courteous to others. This is not a Critical Mass ride and there will be no corking. We invite you to come out and have a good time, meet new cyclists, try some different beers, but most importantly to ride safely. 21+

Secret Gardens - September 16, 11am
Find serenity in the beautiful secret gardens of Coral Gables. Join us as we gain access behind the walled gardens of local churches, universities and private homes for a sneak peek of tropical splendor. Our horticulturist expert will lead this lovely, informative tour.

Pinewood Cemetery - October 21, 11am
Want to get into the Halloween spirit? Join us for a ride to the oldest cemetery south of the Miami River, and the final resting place of many of Dade County’s pioneer settlers. Though Pinewood Cemetery was once abandoned, overgrown, and desecrated by vandals and thieves, it is now protected and recognized as a historic site within the City of Coral Gables.

Wartime Heroes - November 18, 11am
Did you know that the Biltmore Hotel was a V.A. Hospital where General Eisenhower himself stayed for bursitis treatment? That the American Legion Post 98 is one of the longest established downtown buildings? Coral Gables has been host and home to many American soldiers. Join us for this historical tour, including a stop at the Biltmore. *Veterans are free!

Gables Bike Tours are co-presented by Coral Gables Museum and Bike Walk Coral Gables.
Bike rentals are available at No Boundaries, conveniently located across the street from the Coral Gables Museum.

Emerge Miami is hosting their 3rd annual Bike Prom during Memorial Weekend. Bike Prom is a slow paced social ride, expect the hear tunes from the bicycle sound system and improv dance parties along the way. The group will ride through Downtown, Brickell, Omni and Midtown. The ride ends at The Vagabond where participants will have the option to attend The Spring Fling 90s Homecoming, remember Monday is Memorial Day.

Prom attire highly suggested but not required, dress to impress. Bring a date or go stag, if you do decide to come alone bring bike pegs and pick up some random stranger off the street.

Bike Miami Day
Sunday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Walk, bike, or skate the streets of downtown Miami and enjoy live music, street performers, and local shop promotions. Experience family yoga from Sports Club LA, and then sip on mojitos or microbrews in outdoor cafes. Jam out at the dance competition and win a bike if you boogie the best. Stop by “Restaurant Row” and sample delicious tastings from neighborhood restaurants such as River Bistro Gourmet, Finnegan's River and others. Expand your cultural side and visit the International Village featuring nations from around the world. Wear out the kids at the Children’s Corner at Mary Brickell Village and enjoy raffles, prizes, giveaways and street performers along the way. As the street party winds down, it picks up at Tobacco Road where the celebrations continue with Bloody Marys and Tequila Sunrises. Bike Miami Day is free and for the entire family.
