The tradition returns to Coconut Grove!   Bed Racing began in 1920 as an obstacle course on college campuses in the North East. In 1978 racing was incorporated as a Grove tradition for over twenty years. After a seven year new millennium snooze, the event was revived and revved up as the Great Grove Bed Race with a track smack dab in the middle of the Grove Village, twice the entrants and three times the attendees! The event, now in its third successful year as a professionally run statewide attraction, allows the whole family to join celebrities and high profile partners and sponsors in a summer series and Labor Day weekend tradition that raises funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Miami-Dade. Racing begins with get rolling gatherings, workshops and media events through the summer months. Race Weekend kicks off on Saturday night, September 3rd with the traditional Pajama Pub Crawl for 21+ participants who donate to the charIty and race around the grove clad in pajamas. Sunday Sept 4th is Race Day and has a robust schedule to cross all demographics. Proceeds from The Great Grove Bed Race  will benefit THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF MIAMI-DADE
