I'll be checking out the following films at the film festival.
Let me know if I'm missing out on anything!!!! There are tons of films, and I haven't had the chance to read every synopsis out there :-)

Opening night, The Sound of Mumbai, FREE, Wednesday March 2, screened on the wall of the new New World Arts Building..how cool is that?!

Magic City Memoirs, Friday March 11th
I suggest this to all my fellow friends who grew up in Miami. Check this out, as we can relate to growing up in this everchanging, fast paced/fast life, vibrant city.

Dear North Africa and the Middle East, perhaps you may want to see this film??

Jean Gentil must support anything done on my Haitian heritage..

Miami Film Festival
With Watchmen the only new film worth seeing, fill your March theater lull with the Miami International Film Fest. Catch the first screening this Friday with Valentino: The Last Emperor and peak inside the mind of the eccentric icon. From 3/6 until 3/15.
Visit miamifilmfestival.com.

Soak up your Friday hangover with Area 31's new brunch menu. Then start toasting all over again. $50 buys you three hours of Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, Prosecco, fresh juices, and yes, breakfast. Every Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 3 p.m.

Downtown Coral Gables Sidewalk Sale
What: Live jazz, a farmers market, and 50-70 percent off neighborhood shops.
Why: It’s where the sidewalk ends.
When: Sat. & Sun., 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Where: Miracle Mile, Coral Gables.

Also....Carnival on the Mile.. http://www.carnavalmiami.com/onthemile/home.html

Girl Talk in town!!!!
Don't worry, this won't be an hour of two chicks blabbing about their hair and The Bachelor finale. Instead, it's a guy named Greg who likes to mash up hip-hop songs. High-energy indie punksters Deerhunter open. FYI: No deer will be harmed during this performance.
Playing at: Culture Room Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306
Girl Talk, or Gregg Gills, is a student-turned-musician who mixes a bunch of good hip-hop songs together to make one great jam. Now, the guy can charge $25 at the Culture Room, but the show should be electric and slightly sweaty. Psychedelic, **11**t artists Deerhunter are opening. Tickets are still selling on Ticketmaster.com and the show starts around 8 p.m.
