Summertime for us is all about spending quality time with friends and family. We love being out and about in the dreaded nasty sticky heat. On the boat, at the beach, bbq's, days at the park, long bike rides and so on. What I love most is wandering and discovering, taking time out to just think and appreciate everything that we are blessed with, and what better way to do that then by appreciating the tropical gardens in Miami.

Every Sunday for the month of August, Fairchild Tropical Gardens (open 9:30-4:30) will waive their entrance fees. I'm sure the park will be hot and packed, but you should still visit!! Dress comfortably (4" heels and tight ass clothes aren't really going to do you any well here), bring lots of water, and your camera!
Free Sundays in August

The Kampong in Coconut Grove will offer morning guided tours in August
Saturday, August 6, and on Saturday, August 20. Gates will open at 8 a.m. and the two-hour tour begins at 8:30 a.m.

Reservations are required by calling (305) 442-7169. Tour fee is $20 for adults, $15 for ages 62 and over and students with ID, $10 for children 4-12 years, and free for children 3 and under (accompanied by adult)

Pinecrest Gardens still has their Farmer's Market going on Sundays from 9am-2pm, and for $3 you can go inside and check out their beautiful tropical garden!

sunday am: pinecrest farmer's market
one of my favorite things to do is ride my bike over to the pinecrest farmers market, in the pinecrest gardens (old parrot jungle) parking lot. the trees are my favorite, favorite, favorite part. lots of different stalls selling fruits/veggies, honey, soap, random jewelry, etc. i just enjoy the strolling..sometimes there is a french baker who makes the most amazing sourdough and ciabatta bread, and rugalla.......i hope he's there.

i also like continuing the bike ride to matheson hammock park, and hanging out by the picnic benches by the bay/beach..so so pretty. we sure are lucky to live in paradise...especially when it's gorgeous outside!!!
