22nd Annual Las Olas Art Fair

We all need to venture out of Miami every now and then..
Probably uncomparable to our own Coconut Grove Art Festival, this weekend the Las Olas Art Fair will be taking over Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale...

The event is free (parking will probably cost an arm and a leg, and will most likely be a mission..) but you get the chance to explore a great part of Fort Lauderdale, and you get to see art, great people watching (wait, white people and they speak english?) and there are some great little bars and restaurants to check out...Oh and of course, I recommend exiting off I-95 on Broward Blvd., heading right down Andrews Ave., then left on Las Olas...if cars can pass through, pass all the restaurants and galleries, and check out the insane yachts and mansions that line Las Olas Blvd...It sure shuts up our flashy, look at meeeee, nouveau riche Miami bourgeoisie wanna-bees!!!

Las Olas Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.

An annual fall tradition returns to Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Ranked as one of the top 100 art festivals in the nation by a leading art publication, Las Olas continues to be one of the most anticipated art events in the area. People come out yearly to see over 150 artists display their work in what looks like a mini art gallery lined along the street. Las Olas Blvd, a popular tourist and resident attraction, boasts fine boutiques, great restaurants and a great city atmosphere. Like all Howard Alan events, the 22nd Annual Las Olas Fall Art Fair is a juried show, which means each participating artist is hand-selected from hundreds of applicants to ensure a first-class festival with only the highest quality, original artwork. All exhibiting artists are required to be at the festival the entire weekend. This gives you the unique opportunity to meet the creators of the art on display; commission a specific piece; ask questions about techniques; learn the sources of their inspirations; and purchase fine works of art at affordable prices. All of the work on display is available for purchase, and with prices ranging from $15 earrings to $50 prints to $20,000 sculptures, there is always something for everyone. Visit the poster booth across from the Cheesecake Factory to purchase the official Las Olas Poster! Venue: Las Olas Blvd between SE 6th Ave and SE 11th Ave, Ft Lauderdale, FL
