Helping Haiti

As a Haitian-Arab-American. (Yes, we exist, and there are tons of us), I can't even begin to write how truly truly heartbreaking it is to see my parent's country endure yet another tribulation. If it's not political turmoil, its Mother Earth. Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson's balls have clearly shrunk and disappeared into their assholes for the comments they've been making. Hopefully we can all ignore them, and listen with our hearts as HUMANS to help a country with nothing left.

I'll try to post a little more often on how you can help. (work is beyond busy these days)

Food for the Poor will continue to send containers throughout the recovery time and items can be dropped off at their Coconut Creek location..

Hands down, if you prefer to donate money, I think the best organization to donate money to is Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontiers as they have been operating in Haiti for awhile and are setting up makeshift hospitals anywhere they can. They've also lost alot of equipment and personnel, and also, people have to be rescued before they can eat..http://doctorswithoutborders.org/

FOOD FOR THE POOR AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS HAVE REQUESTED THAT FOR THE TIME BEING WE ONLY COLLECT THE MOST URGENTLY NEEDED ITEMS, AT THIS TIME THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTING CLOTHES & SHOES.

All drop-offs should be done no later then Saturday 1-16-2010.
