Museum Park, American Airlines Arena, Downtown Miami
Formula E is a new FIA championship series featuring open-wheel Formula cars powered exclusively by electric energy. From Asia to South America, the eight turn, 2.17km circuit will come to the US first in Downtown Miami along Biscayne Bay. Hitting speeds in excess of 150mph along Biscayne Blvd., Formula E drivers will compete in the heart of Miami for one of the most anticipated sport entertainment events of the new year. 

Other than the race itself, which includes practice viewing and a qualifying session, the Miami ePrix will feature off-track entertainment including an e-village at the Perez Art Museum of Miami starting on Friday, March 13. Paddock attractions and exhilarating live music performances will be featured as well.

Vote for your favorite drivers on the Formula E website or via the Formula E app. The three drivers with the most votes are awarded FanBoost. At the pull of a lever, the top three voted cars will have power raised from 200bhp to 240bhp for 5 seconds!!

Bay Skate Miami
Bayfront Park, 5-11pm



The inaugural Bay Skate Miami event, winner of the Miami Foundation's "Public Space Challenge", will officially launch on Thursday, Feb 26th at Bayfront Park. The FREE event will be in support of activating our public parks, giving back to our local community, supporting an active lifestyle, and promises to bring a one-of-a-kind roller skating and music experience to the heart of Downtown Miami. (General Session 5-7pm / Adult Skate Session 7:30-11pm)

Emcee'd by classic hip hop legend Da Real Monie Love, and fueled by live music sets from top DJs, Bay Skate will set the vibe for an old-school, nostalgic experience where guests can skate, dance, eat, drink, and play. 

For this special night, Bay Skate will convert the park's iconic Claude Pepper Fountain into an authentic waterfront skating rink with concert sound/lighting, will offer skate rentals, shoe valet, food trucks, and activate Miami's beautiful Bayfront Park and local community for which this event is dedicated to. 

The Bay Skate community project was created and being produced by brothers Alex & Marcos Macias, and their award-winning local Integrated Creative Content & Brand Development Agency, Macias Advertising , along with good friends Maggie Fernandez from Sustainable Miami and Devin Cejas from Walk/Urban Landscape & Design.

FOOD/DRINK: Food Trucks, Drinks, and Alcoholic Beverages available for purchase. (Vendors include COYO Taco, Sakaya Kitchen/Black Brick, and Wynwood Brewing Co. to name a few.)

SKATE RENTALS: Rentals and Shoe Valet Available (limited). Event still highly recommends bringing your own skates and protective gear if possible,to ensure a fun and safe skating experience.

PARKING: Public Parking is available throughout the blocks surrounding park grounds, as well as covered parking in Bayside Marketplace which is next door to event.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Metro Rail/Metro Mover,Miami Downtown Trolley, and Public Bus services all leave patrons directly in front of Bayfront Park. Public transportation is encouraged to avoid parking and traffic concerns.

IMPORTANT: All skaters and event participants will be required to fill out a Release/Waiver of Liability provided at the event and/or through other approved methods, in order to skate or participate in any of the activities. Participants will need to understand and agree that skating is dangerous activity, and that they assume all risks related to the event activities. All participants will agree to SKATE AT THEIR OWN RISK, and not hold liable the producers, organizers, and/or any other related entities of the event. Anyone under the age of 18, will be required to have the consent of an adult in order to participate in activities.

In celebration of World Oceans Day on June 8th, we invite you to join us for a weekend long festival that dives into the beautiful, exciting, and scientific nature of our neighbor to the east.

On Saturday, June 7th the festival begins at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science
with programming continuing through Sunday, June 8th. Daytime programming is from 10am to 6pm and will include:

A variety of beautiful underwater films showcasing marine conservation and sustainability, featuring BLUE On Tour, the touring arm of the world-renowned BLUE Ocean Film Festival & Conservation Summit.

Breathtaking underwater photography by acclaimed worldwide photographer Zach Ransom and the 2013 and 2014 award winning photos from University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science’s Underwater Photography Contest.

Experiencing a special virtual tour of Florida International University’s underwater laboratory,Aquarius, and chat with scientist under the sea.

Aquariums of all shapes and sizes. Plus, guests can learn how to create their own aquarium.

Building a coral reef (and all it’s sea creatures) out of recyclables in a community art project led by Artist Kerry Phillips.

Local diving stars Billy Catoggio and Mitch Herne of the popular TV show “Scuba Nation.”
Guests can meet the stars, and watch an episode of the show.

Opportunities to try knot tying and learn about boating in South Florida with Shake-A-Leg Miami, an international adaptive sailing program.

A workshop series featuring corals, underwater photography and diving certification 101 by local scientists and dive shops, including coral expert Dr. Diego Lirman of University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), Grove Scuba, and DEP Coral Reef Conservation Program.

Special screenings of WPBT2’s Changing Seas episodes with a surprise guest.
Ocean-themed curious vault table, where guests can see where science and art meet.
Plus shark and squid dissections, demos, and many more hands-on activities.

All daytime programming is free with paid museum admission.

This annual event showcases antique maps, rare books, panoramas and atlases from around the world. Peruse and purchase antique maps from some of the finest map dealers in the world. Learn about cartography through a series of lectures by experts in the field and enjoy special events held throughout the weekend.

Downtown Miami is home to Miami's most renowned arts and culture institutions and organizations.  In its second year, the Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) arts and culture initiative DWNTWN Arts and Culture is working to bring together all of Downtown's exciting arts and culture activities and events under one cohesive umbrella.  

A major highlight of this is DWNTWN Art Days-- the first collective two day arts and culture event spanning Downtown Miami. This event includes not only exhibitions, exclusive art tours, artists open studios, it also features outdoor performances, a bike ride, a kickball match and last but definitely not least a dedicated arts and culture trolley for easy access to all of our arts and culture venues.

Jacob Jeffries, hailed as a super singer-songwriter-keyboardist, and his band kick off the festivities showcasing their piano driven rock and roll that is bursting with catchy melodies and dramatic, instantly likable vocals.
Eric Hutchinson takes it to another level with his energetic live show – performing a batch of genre-blending tunes off his new album “Moving Up Living Down”. Since his album “Sounds Like This” broke the top 10 on the iTunes charts in 2007, he has toured with Kelly Clarkson, Jason Mraz and One Republic and has been named an AOL "About To Pop" artist, Yahoo! Who's Next Artist, MSN "One To Watch" Artist and a "VH1 You Oughta Know" Artist. His unique sound is like audible sunshine that will keep you bright and happy long after sunset.
