Some Like It Hot, first museum exhibition created
 by trailblazing Wynwood artists,
showcasing Miami’s popular street art movement

Exhibition Pop-Up Party

Some Like It Hot, (currently on view) is the first major museum/gallery showcase of Miami’s burgeoning street art scene, and was curated in collaboration with some of the art forms’ local pioneers and trailblazers: 2alas, Lo Castro, George Sanchez-Calderon and the MSG Crew to name a few.
Each contributed original works for the exhibit, inspired by Miami’s history.

Street art is a definitive part of the cultural fabric in today’s Miami. The murals and outdoor pieces that dot the Wynwood/Midtown area have become major attractions for both tourists and locals alike, and have helped revitalize a once forgotten neighborhood. However, the impact of the art form, and the nameless artists creating it (largely for free) have yet to be recognized by major galleries and museums in the area…until now.

Miami is the last stop of the traveling exhibition before it travels to Marley's birthplace, Nine Mile in Jamaica. Bob Marley Messenger brings together diverse artifacts, rare photographs and more from the private collection of the Marley family. On display, visitors will see a broad array of items like Marley's famous Les Paul guitar, photographs of Marley both on and off stage, ticket stubs, concert posters, tour books, fan memorabilia and interactive exhibit.

The exhibition will open at HistoryMiami with an opening celebration on Thursday, October 10 at 7 p.m. featuring local reggae band Jahfe, followed by a family festival on Saturday, October 12 from 1 to 4 p.m.
