6-10pm, Little Haiti Cultural Center
The December 19 edition features GABEL in concert in the plaza. Gabel is one of the most popular next-generation pop konpa bands in Haitian music today. Opening set by Hector Lominy and band. Between sets, DJ Mack Bazile.
In the gallery, an official Art Basel Miami sanctioned exhibit, “Borderless Caribbean”- [Unmapped Trajectories – Annotating Art Histories] exhibition is presented on the 20th Anniversary of the HCAA/Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance, as part of its expanded Global Caribbean series now in its six edition
Plus, enjoy delicious kreyol cuisine from Leela's Restaurant, and other tastes of the Caribbean. Children will enjoy hands on art activities hosted by Positive Impact, Koze Famn Media and the Bass Museum of Art.

21st Annual Kite Festival at Haulover Park
12-5pm
The sky over Miami Beach will display a marvelous array of colors and figures from hundreds of kites in the air during the 21st Annual Kite Festival at Haulover Park, 10800 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Expect to see the 100 foot flying squid, 30 foot flying scuba man, 300 sq foot parafoils, 30 foot flying Nemo Fish, 150 foot flying rainbow and more.
Hosted by Miami-Dade Parks and Skyward Kites, these free events feature paper kite building classes & demonstrations from longtime kite enthusiasts. In addition, there will be kite-flying competitions for both children and adults. People of all ages are encouraged to come out to fly their kites, make their own kites for free or purchase an already-made kite. There is no limitation to the size and type of kite. Those who just want to watch can bring a blanket and enjoy the sight of hundreds of kites in the air and some great live music. Food and refreshments & kites will be available for purchase.

Celerbrate Rina Yoga's 8th Birthday at the Historic Barnacle in Coconut Grove
It’s been a beautiful 8 years teaching yoga to our Miami yogi community and as a token of our gratitude we would like to gift to you a very special outdoor free yoga class!
Come celebrate with us at the historic Barnacle State Park in Coconut Grove on Saturday Feb. 1st!
Class will be taught by our very special teacher and founder of Rina Yoga, RINA JAKUBOWICZ, with live music by AFROBETA and ADRIAN GONZALEZ from Suénalo under the pavilion by the bay.
After class we will continue our celebration with a lovely picnic hosted by our healthy snack sponsors below and fun activities for everyone!!!

THE MIAMI DESIGN PRESERVATION LEAGUE is excited to celebrate a time when Shirley Temple danced and sang her way into our hearts, Mickey Mouse debuted as Steamboat Willie, and Yo-Yos made their way to America. THE ART DECO ERA also saw the birth of longtime classic board games such as Scrabble and Monopoly, and Mahjong and Domino tiles were made of the new, unbreakable plastic called Bakelite. The 1930s saw children claiming the Rubber Duck as their favorite bath toy, Girl Scouts selling their Cookies door-to-door, and Superman leaping his first building in a single bound. Future architects used brand new Legos and Lincoln Logs to design and build their first structural creations.
You might say the Art Deco Era was especially magical for children, and ART DECO WEEKEND 2014 will be a chance to relive HISTORY's MOST PLAYFUL TIME!
• Allan Harris, Doug Wimbish, Suénalo, the All-Star Art Deco Weekend Band, and others will play the Music Festival Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
• In the spirit of the 2014 "At Play" theme, Post Foods is sponsoring an Art Deco Playground created "Just For Kids."
• Don't forget the always-popular Art Deco Weekend Fashion Show, Saturday afternoon.
• This Year's Film Festival features "The Great Gatsby" (2013) and "Chicago" (2002) ... and the "Just for Kids" Film Series, including a number of movies and shorts starring Shirley Temple, The Little Rascals, and Our Gang.
• New for the 37th Annual Art Deco Weekend is THE ANTIQUE EXPERIENCE, a more intensely focused ART DECO area (11th Street & Ocean Drive), where visitors can emerse themselves in the period's information, entertainment, and importantly, Antiques and Objects to buy. In the spirit of 2014's "At Play" theme, the Miami Design Preservation League is hosting two Interactive Games to be played on Ocean Drive and in Lummus Park over the course of Art Deco Weekend.
A game of DECOPOLY will be played both Saturday and Sunday. All attendees (young and old) are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Movies on the Plaza presents: Scrooged
Scrooged, a modernization of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Bill Murray stars as television executive Frank Cross, the meanest and most depraved man on earth. Cross plots his foulest move for the Christmas holiday, when he forces his office staff to mount a live production of A Christmas Carol on national television -- and thus work through Christmas Eve. Cross's life is turned upside down with visits from the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, which lead Frank to realize he must change.
Movies on the Plaza is a free, family-friendly event sponsored by Brickell World Plaza each month.
Admission is free. Parking is free in the surface lot. Chairs are available. Bring dinner. Bring snacks. Coolers are allowed, but please, no glass or bottles. Movies nights are subject to favorable weather conditions. Rain make-up date: Friday, December 27, 2013.
