Asher Roth
It's not Eminem, not hardly. It's Asher Roth, the suburban white rapper who (thank the Maker) doesn't waste listeners' time rhyming about how he came up the hard way in Morrisville, PA. Instead, he rhymes about college parties, pizza slices and other innocuous details of middle class life. Check him out at Mansion Friday night.

So Raw Music Festival

raw meat!

At the last music festival you attended, you ate suspicious baked goods and heard tons of great tunes.

But they were inside your head.

For live local music, there’s this weekend’s inaugural So Raw Festival: seventeen garage-rock bands playing over two days. A local art collect

ive — three college students who want to showcase raw talent in Miami — is

throwing the event.

There’ll be local bands (Jacuzzi Boys, Teepee, Electric Bunnies), along with out-of-state up-and-comers like The Yolks and Pink Reason. (Never heard of them? That’s kind of the point.) Also on hand: works by local artists and all-you-can-drink Select Vodka and beer (or BYO).

The night shows will be at the ISM Gallery in Wynwood, and Saturday afternoon’s affair is at the UES Garden. A weekend pass is just $18.

The price won’t mushroom.
