(I saw a movie/documentary based on this a few years ago, Bus 174, holy shit is pretty much all I can say. I'm not sure if Stop 174 is a movie based on the true events, or if it is another docu-movie..but I'd definately recommend it.)

8's taking over the breezeway in the Z Ocean Hotel, plating burgers like their house blend (a meaty conglomeration of sirloin, tri-tip, short rib, and chuck) and edible fun like the Suds & Slider Sampler: three 5oz beers with mini wild boar, lamb, and prime beef burgers. There's also sides goodness like fried pickles and truffled potato skins, and a mess of burger toppings like fried green tomatoes, purple mustard, Humbolt Fog cheese, and cave-aged Gruyere described as "nutty", but wouldn't you be too, if you were trapped in a cave? MAM kicks off its monthly Summer Nights series with a full open bar from 6:30 to 8:00, gratis Birkedal Hartmann Cognac 'til 9:30, and free popcorn throughout this Dustin Hoffman-narrated doc on the photography of Julius Shulman, the guy who helped put modern architecture on the map by shooting famous glass houses in LA, then did the same with Miami's own MiMo movement, which would be considered modernism's frivolous offspring, if architecture got laid more often. Free for MAM members, $10 for non-members (buy tix at the door). For more info, and to watch the trailer, go to MiamiArtMuseum.org

Caffe Abbracci Celebrates 20 Years
Dinner at Caffe Abbracci usually nets you several local politician sightings, a few brushes with random celebs (we're looking at you, Banderas) and heaping plates of Italian fare. All this month it'll also mean a special three-course menu with veal scaloppini, penne with pink sauce, a glass of Perrier-Jouët champagne and a good segue into your Desperado story.

Finnish Marimekko Opening Party
Your favorite Scandinavian design store has migrated from the beach to the mainland. Help them celebrate their Design District debut by sipping a few of their complimentary cocktails and perusing their pattern-happy stock of furniture, wallpaper, linens, towels and bags. Seriously, it would be rude not to at least stop by.

Pay Your Age
June Birthdays at Acqualina Resort
If your birthday is this month or you know someone whose is, you'll want to head to the Acqualina, where the room rate for one night's stay is equal to your age. The catch is you have to also book their new spa day-pass for $55, which gets you a 20-minute massage and unlimited access to crystal steam rooms, Finnish saunas and the oceanfront pool. So actually, there is no catch.
